American Durafilm Co., Inc. (Holliston, MA) is the only stocking distributor for TEFLON® FEP, PFA, and KAPTON® Films — and the oldest and most experienced fabricator of those films — with skilled personnel and specialized sophisticated equipment for:
- Slitting and rewinding TEFLON® FEP, PFA, TEFZEL®, and KAPTON® Films.
- Heat-Sealing TEFLON® FEP, PFA, TEFZEL®, and KAPTON® Films & Others.
- Thermoforming TEFLON® FEP, PFA, TEFZEL®, and KAPTON® Films & Others.
- Shrinking and Bonding Services for our Heat Shrinkable FEP Roll Covers.
- Fabricating and heat-sealing TEFLON® coated glass and Kevlar belts (with studs or grommets, if desired). Also with "Alligator" and similar splicing devices.
- Fabricating high temperature bellows from DuPont's KAPTON® Film.
- Manufacturing cylindrical laminates from TEFLON® coated glass fabric.
- American Durafilm Co., Inc. also has more than 50 years experience as a DuPont licensed industrial applicator of TEFLON® coatings which are used for their dry lubrication, electrical insulation, anti-stick, corrosion resistance and high temperature properties.
Specifics
TEFLON® FEP, PFA, TEFZEL®, and KAPTON® Film Fabrications (Heat-sealed)
200 gauge (.002") to 2,000 gauge (.020") is the most satisfactory range for heat-sealing. Gauges thinner than 200 tend to distort and will take on "wavy" appearance; gauges heavier than 2,000 are more difficult to seal. Type C and C-20 FEP film are not usually recommended for heat-sealing or vacuum-forming.
Lay Flat Tubing
We can fabricate heat-sealed "Lay Flat" tubing of TEFLON® FEP, PFA, TEFZEL®, and KAPTON® Films, and provide seamless, thinwall, FEP lay flat tubing in long lengths.
Size Limitations
Our Thermoforming capabilities allow us to fabricate both simple and complex configurations in various sizes.
Film fabrications have no length and width limitations, but these films are difficult to handle in large, bulky, configurations without creasing, attracting air-borne dust, etc. We will be pleased to discuss.
