High Performance Film Distribution, Fabrication and TEFLON® Coating

Polyimide Tubing

Polyimide Tubing American Durafilm® recently acquired the manufacturing assets of Concentric MicroTubing Inc. (CMTi) located in Cornelius, North Carolina. This strategic acquisition will enable American Durafilm® to add both large and small diameter seamless polyimide tubing and custom assemblies to its existing product offerings of polyimide tubing and high performance coatings and films including; Teflon®, Xylan®, Dykor®, Halar®, Emralon®, Everlube®, Tefzel®, Kapton®, and PEEK®.

American Durafilm now boasts the widest size range of medical polyimide tubing than any other company. Polyimide tubing can also be fabricated in our state of the art, ISO 7/Class 10000 clean room http://americandurafilm.com/cleanroom.cfm.

Uncoated Tubing

A tough aromatic polyimide film exhibiting an excellent balance of physical, chemical, and electrical properties over a wide temperature range from 0° Kelvin (-459.66°F) to unusually high temperatures (752°F).

Chemically, Durafilm® PI Tubing is a modified Type 1 polyimide solution based on 4,4' oxydianiline, benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride and pyromellitic dianhydride.

Coated Tubing

Proprietary formulations to produce tubing with specific surface resistivity values to bleed static charges and Fluoropolymer topcoats of PTFE, FEP and PFA for superior release at high temperatures (425°F - 550°F).

Wire and Material Coating

American Durafilm has the ability to coat various materials with polyimide and our polyimide/PTFE composites.
